Orb is the name given to round and transparent globes appearing in photos. If you have been seeing them in photos taken by you through your digital camera but merely thought of them as aberrations or something that corrupted your photo and effort, let it be known to you that the history of orbs is as old as photography itself. Though it was all B&W initially and the hobby was no as common as it is these days with digital cameras in the hands of every other individual, orbs nevertheless were keenly followed and some even tried to research and find out the root cause of the presence of these transparent light balls in photos.

It is possible to get to the truth by taking a camera and trying out yourself. You can go to desolate places and take photos using a flash. There are some who say that if you call out to orbs asking them to show up and click the camera, they do show up inevitably in your photos (its not that they will not show up on their own). There is no dearth of non believers in the theory that these orbs are spirits manifesting themselves as a pure form of energy. These people suggest the presence of dust particles and a speck on the lens just when flash is on to take the photo. I took the challenge and grabbed dust in my palm. I went inside a room in my home and without switching on light, I threw the dust in my palm upwards and then clicked the camera. To my surprise, there as no orb in the picture and all I had in my picture were bright dust particles as they were in the room at that instant.

Even if one were to discount the ghost theory, it still remains unclear as to how these round and transparent balls of light cut across a wall that is possible only for ghosts. If you look at these balls closely in a video, you would find that some of them get across walls as if they have something paranormal about them.

Leaving apart videos, pictures of orbs have always been a centre of attraction for all those who believe them to be a manifestation of the spirits. Some websites that are dedicated to all things paranormal have traditionally been accepting pictures of orbs but of late there has been a flood of photos containing orbs which are difficult to authenticate. This has made these sites to stop accepting photos containing orbs and some have even deleted orbs from their list of things paranormal.

There are photographers and those who make professional videos at events who say that they have had interesting and exciting encounters with these orbs or so called energies. They have felt these spiritual orbs playing with their equipment which is not surprising at all as people say that these spirits are trying to communicate with us in their own unique way. Till the time science finds a correct explanation, orbs are going to remain in the realm of paranormal.
